Terms of use
Version 2026-09-02 · Kenya · These are product terms for using GarageStacks, written in plain language. They are not legal advice and not a government document.
Opening an owner or garage account means you have read this page and agree to it. We keep a timestamp and version on the account when you tick the box.
Who this is for
GarageStacks is a private product for people and workshops in Kenya (and anyone else who uses the site). Car owners keep a history on a car. Garages log jobs and can confirm work on a car when the owner and the workshop both use the product.
Your account
You open an account with a name, a phone number or email, and a password. You are responsible for that login. Tell us if you think someone else is using it. Do not open an account for someone else without them knowing, and do not pretend to be a garage you are not.
A garage account is checked before it can confirm work on a customer car. We may ask for the workshop name, town, and what work you do. We can refuse or suspend an account if the details do not check out, or if the account is used to cheat a record.
Car records
You (or a garage you take the car to) add lines, photos, receipts, and notes against a registration. That is a private service history on that car. It is only as good as what people put in. We do not inspect the car for you.
This is not a government logbook, not an NTSA record, and not a certificate of ownership. It does not replace looking at the car, a mechanic inspecting it, or any official paper Kenya already uses.
Garage confirmation
When a garage confirms a job, that line is stamped so you can see it came from the workshop, not only from the owner typing. Confirmation is the garage saying they did (or quoted) that work. It is not a government stamp.
No wiping history
A history you could quietly erase would be worth nothing. Records can be hidden from a public or share view, but we do not wipe the underlying history to make a bad job disappear. Closing an account or asking us to stop processing your personal details is a different request. Write to us and we will handle what the law requires without pretending the past never happened.
Payments
Paid plans are charged on the website. You can pay by M-Pesa, card, or other methods we show at checkout. The payment company (for example M-Pesa or a card processor) sees what they need to take the money. We do not store your card PIN or M-Pesa PIN. Nothing is charged until you actually start payment on the next screen after signup.
Prices are shown in Kenya shillings on the pricing page. You can stop a paid plan when you like; unused time is not automatically refunded unless we say so at checkout or Kenyan consumer law requires it.
Kenya law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. If we have a dispute we cannot sort out ourselves, Kenyan courts have jurisdiction. How we hold personal data is also described on the privacy page.
